Social Media Poetry

Post by Koi-Scribble » Sat Mar 24, 2018 9:32 pm

Calling all poets!!
This thread is all about you! We are going to be posting three poems every week to social media, and we want to involve, and reward, this amazingly creative community!

Here's how it works!
  1. Submit your poems to this thread.
      • Try to make it Underlight themed.
      • Keep it clean.
      • Keep it kind: no poems about Player B's drama or whatnot.
  2. Your poems will be looked over and chosen
  3. Your poem will be posted on social media on a graphic, with your character's name and the poem title.
  4. You will be rewarded in RPP for each poem that we use.
Here is an example of how the poems will be displayed. The image will be bigger, but to show it off we had to shrink it down due to forum restrictions. ;)

We hope this will be a fun way for everyone to get involve in promoting the game. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at Marketing@Underlight.com or you can usually find one of us in Discord.

Thank you and happy dreaming!

Piercing Veil
By: Night Storm
Our dreams, our lives we live in these ebbing and flowing halls.
The brickways the idle step, the chorus of history streaming colours.
Twisting, curving, sparkling lights a broken thought leading to discourse.
A task set forth giving curiosity so golden the only sight of shadows are that of enlightenment.
Rose buds petals of water running backwards, horrors of the very imagination driving forward.
Can we find the answers to the unending questions before our path?
Plums and berries, flowers and roses, charms and chakrams what do you remember?
Taste of the fruit, a smile with a light twitch of an eye, crying at the thought.
Shall we step into the light amongst the other souls or lurk in the shadows watching, listening?
The cold brisk winds fill a racing heart with the thrill of so many possibilities.
It's only one room, one thought, one possible answer.. of many.
When there is two, that are truly one. which one shall prevail?
Portals twist a beacon for all.
Theses thoughts come paint the pathway of the courtyard..
That smell of home, it's nirvana, more than nostalgia.
The change that took our dreams from us, will fade again we shall walk these dreams.
for now, bide try to focus on the little pieces that live on.
Can you hear me? my dreams, my friends, my family..
An amalgamation of intentions, power, chaos, passion, insight, resilience, lucidity, willpower.
A part of us a dream within a dream, no longer lost it’s time to come home.
Join our grand illusion, awaken your mind to a moment of fancy.

The Dream Warrior
by: ladysilver

Disappointment ... tears ... scars
Not so healed the pain is forgotten.
There is a sound in the silence
So soft ... so quiet ... a heart beat.
It is a chance ...a hope
That honor will rise.
Peace will somehow be gained.
The nightmare will be banished
Replaced by reason
Changed by compassion.
The Dream ... the glorious dream
Rising from the ashes of greed
and losing the empty illusion of power
To be as it was meant to be
A place of sharing knowledge
A santuary from ignorance.
So she rises the battered warrior
Bloodied and brusied
As she reaches for the tomb dropped
Beside her and holds it close
Steading herself on her blade before sheathing it
The heart beat grows stronger
She takes a step ...
The Journey begins again.

Thank you for your submissions! The first poem is up on Twitter and Instagram! I had to widen the graphic some to fit the poetic awesomeness. Remember, this is going to be something we continue to do each week, so feel free to send in multiple poems! :)

I decided to be a little silly and write a poem from the viewpoint of an optimistic little Darkmare, who eventually changes his tune..
Hope this makes you laugh a little. :D

The Darkmare's Stroll

It's been a little while and I'm feeling pretty swell,
I think I'll venture out and visit the Citadel.
This evening walk is nice, through the Chasm of Souls,
Next time I'll invite Kigdish, to join me on these little strolls.

What's that I hear, one of those dreamers coming near...
This time I'll try to speak and hopefully, cause no fear.

"Aieka dorf....."
Dreamer has just smacked you.
Darkmare screams, clearly beginning to weaken!
Dreamer has just smacked you.
Darkmare appears heavily damaged!
Dreamer has just smacked you.
Darkmare seems very near dissolution!!
You have been defeated by Dreamer.

I don't understand, maybe they didn't see,
I just wanted to say hi and ask if they'd talk to me.
I'll give it another chance, I'll give it another try,
And maybe this time, we'll see things eye-to-eye.

Back up to Chasm, I'm ready to be brave,
I sense the dreamer is waiting in the Little Cave.

"Pracie, dorf...."

It's clear that my words are not getting through,
And at this point, I really don't know what to do.
I'll make one more journey, but my temper is growing short,
If the dreamer hits me again, I may come back with an escort.

Oh no, what's this! I'm surrounded by a crowd!
Their aiming chaks and arts and getting pretty loud.

I'm done, I give up, I can't take this anymore.
I'm too tired to go back out there; even my moral is sore.
Those dreamers need to be shown a lesson, as they're acting pretty SICKO!
I have just the answer - HEY PICCO!
Some people choose to see the ugliness in this world. The disarray. I choose to see the beauty. To believe there is an order to our days, a purpose.

The Thirteen
By: Jade

13 delved into Underlight’s core
Fractured the barrier,
Unlocked the lore
Beyond the Soul,
Rested the Heart
The findings sweet,
The aftertaste tart
Bestowed upon them,
Powers galore
When the Darkness came,
Only two remained
Offer the essence,
Give and take
Our path, our faith -
Never to forsake
With inner demons slain,
The victorious shall reign
”My candle burns at both ends; It will not last the night. But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends—It gives a lovely light!” - Edna St. Vincent Millay

Home

The red walls stand imposing to many
To me they are warm, like a hearth
Welcoming me back into their embrace

The night sky frightens those of the light
To me the stars are wishes yet to be made
And yet to come true

The pulsing warmth of the Orb scalding to the unbelievers
To me a heartbeat, a living thing
That always calls me home
