Amnesia of Convenience: A plague

Post by Tentacle »

To whom it may concern;

You've lost your collective minds.

The idea that political bodies having a "turn" should take precedence over a threat to the dreamscape itself is quite honestly, ludicrous. Under normal circumstances, we might be content to simply regard the matter as nothing more than a quaint notion. We could go on about our dreams. We could continue our work to find a resolution to impending calamity. Once our current predicament had the resolution we might say, "that was ill-advised but we made it." We, as a collective of awakened beings, do seem to have a rather tenacious spirit and endearing perspicacity.

Or do we?

In an attempt to be fair and inclusive, a collective of political leaders has potentially sealed the fates of all awakened entities. A plague of collective amnesia has swept across the ruling bodies of the city. Or worse, they don't give a damn. They have placed a rare and precious treasure before an entity that has killed for it; at least once, and gone on about their business. The hubris of their actions are truly breathtaking in their scope. As if this prodigiously bad idea were not profound enough, the entities responsible will absolutely get away with it. Why will they get away with it? Because they're, "pacifists."

I truly, sincerely, and desperately hope their trust is not misplaced. If it is we might none of us be of sufficient coherence to say, "I told you so."
