Common decency

Post by LadySilver »

It is too hard to imagine that a little respect goes a long ways? Common areas are just that there for everyone. Lewd acts are for more private areas and always have been with consensual dreamers. Consent isn't being stuck in a room or for the act of walking through and being made uncomfortable. Language is another thing but I have lowered my level and will cuss with with rest of you, I suppose. If you cannot respect yourselves in a group, could you step outside your own selfishness and think of those around you. I would remind you as well it's against the rules if you haven't read them do... it's The Second Rule. The dream is growing in activity please have some respect. If you see anything that breaks the rules report them. Making jokes or letting is pass is how the community degrades. We are better than this.

If your defense is your adult act like one!

While I agree that "lewd acts" should be done far, far away from the high traffic areas of UL, there is nothing wrong with language. If your character doesn't swear (like mine, actually.) she doesn't have to swear. You don't have to "lower your standards". You should always be comfortable playing your character as you wish. Don't let someone decide how they should behave or talk.

As for rule two mentioned:
The Second Rule -- "Respect Others"
Keep your behavior appropriate at all times. If your language or behavior repeatedly annoys or offends others, you will be banned from playing. We place no limits on the use of language. Consenting adults are free to engage in any language or behavior they mutually agree to. Inappropriate behavior includes attacking other players without a valid 'in game reason', using unnecessarily offensive language, annoying others with out of character chat, excessive begging, etc.

Yes, it does say "Keep your behavior appropriate at all times." By "language" and "behavior", and while I believe they touch a little bit on uncomfortable lewdness, it's explained as harassment here in this rule and they will be banned for repeat offenses. "We place no limits on the use of language." I know this isn't completely true, because "Something Odd" has asked characters to tone down their "F-bombs" (And from an OOC standpoint, I appreciate that.), but if a character swears, they swear. Just don't associate much with them if you don't like their choice of language. "Consenting adults are free to engage in any language or behavior they mutually agree to." Yeah... But... Perhaps, like Silver is getting at... Maybe not in front of prying eyes... We all know people still QRP. Keep it FAR out there. A little PDA is fine, but full on snogging and all that? Even I get a bit squicked out and will just up and leave. Everything else in rule two is pretty self explanatory.

That's just my two cents on a great topic.

I had an issue in-game. There was conflict. Collapses transpired. I feel some type of way. I will overcome.

Dreamers,

I understand that sometimes tensions can run high in a game as dynamic as Underlight where our actions and the actions of others can intertwine or stir conflict. If you, as a player strongly feel there is a potential violation or issue that goes against the standards of the rules/game, please do not hesitate to submit an email to abuse@

I strongly disagree with the continued approach of bringing IC matters into an OOC forum and more with 'calling out' players that further erodes any In-Character approach in handling a particular situation.
“I try to bring the audience's own drama, tears and laughter they know about, to them.”
