Option 3)

This is just a rough scenario:

It is 100 plus years into the future. Something rather drastic happened and you were not able to dream. Perhaps the city was destroyed, or something else happened. You are now able to dream again after all this time has passed. But the destruction from before, lead you to where you are now. Your beliefs are stronger than ever.

But wait… is there more than one perception of what happened back then?

Maybe there are two set of beliefs brought from
It, and perhaps even a third with a group that wishes to remain neutral.

Your story hasn’t changed, your character hasn’t. You’ve merely evolved and now see the truth and you’ve made a choice to stand for what you believe.

*keep in mind. This isn’t about fighting. But if there is, the seneshals from each side stands up for their members. This could lead in a lot of directions, but where it leads and the road it takes would be up to you.

That's what happened in the beginning. There were two beliefs Freesoul and Illuminate...then they allowed a third, then a fourth...and so on...brought us to now....no beliefs at all

If the third choice is picked...I would suggest that the first thing to go would be Chaos Well...It has put a complete end to all the essence practices...

Voted for option 3 here. A time skip could be good, if it wasn’t too drastic. 100 years offset may mean that our chars got way old and /or died in their shards? Else, it could be nice to have a soft reset on story, beliefs, and available open houses.

A good option may be to allow players to re-roll their chars into a new character, keeping the same sphere/train/forge levels, but allowing them to choose a new focus, new name, and new starting point for a brand new character without having to restart back at orbit 0.

In regards to cedars comments:

100 years is not a long time by Underlight’s timeline. There are people that have played their character being 150 year old, or even more. In the dream you can live forever if you want to. Into the future, it could be very interesting, and to see how we would play our characters evolving.

As far as names go, that’s already been discussed, and you may see more on that soon.
