Poking trancing players

In an unrelated post, someone lamented that players may not want to seek them out because they trance too much. I do this too. Having the game force itself to the foreground and not allowing use my second monitor or other programs is serious burden. So I Alt-Tab a lot. In a few cases, people have walked up to me, said hi, I didn't respond, and they moved on while I was browsing imgur.
For those who are not aware, you can provoke pop-up windows on people who are Alt-Tabbed. Arts such as Give or JP will alert the player if they are at the computer but just in another window.
What are the thoughts of the Players and the GMs regarding this idea.
Inscribing a codex with 1 charge named *a poke*. And giving it to a player you suspect may be alt-tabbed in an attempt to get their attention back to the game?
Below is an example of what the window looks like, for those who have not experienced it.
