I've noticed that no one really uses IRC any more.
Is there a chat platform that people would rather use? Or is this something the Community no longer wants?

You folks used IRC? There's a bunch of newer chat apps easily able to load on a phone even. Which imo is really convenient. Some even offer voice chatting which is another huge plus. Mumble I believe is the name of one I have used before and free I think (not sure).
But here's my question. What are you all chatting about? Is it about Underlight and roleplays or is it just general chat and all things non-Underlight?

I used to hang out in irc and on occasion some funny things would pop up. One day I noticed everyone was gone.
I'll revisit it though. Nowadays I mostly stick to FB group chats
