Jawsman reawakening, part 1.

Entry 1: Omni-Tek Corporation, transference lab # 2. Present day.
The technician examined the monitors between the two surgical beds. In one laid a dying elderly white male who well over 100 years old. In the other, laid a much younger man who appeared to be in his late 20’s. An observant person would say that the younger man appeared to have many facial features that the elderly man had. Indeed, the younger person was an “enhanced” clone of the older man. An angled jawline, high cheekbones, hazel eyes, and perfect skin were things even the untrained eye would see in the young man. While the jawline, cheekbones, and hazel eyes were visible in the old man, his skin bore the wear and tear of over a century of living that even modern science could only do so much to mitigate.
“Original is nearing the point of termination,” observed the technician. “We need to ensure his consciousness is transferred to his new version while he is still viable.”
“Is this copy fully paid for?” Asked a nearby man in a suit. The technician glared at him a minute before nodding in the affirmative. “All protocol was followed,” he replied disdainfully. “Does corporate even need to be here?”
“Yes we do,” Suit Man replied. “The Ivory Tower views this as its most lucrative project and we can’t tolerate more delays OR people in the labs taking shortcuts.”
Indeed, the Omni-Tek Corporation had been the first on Earth to patent cloning technology. It wasn’t without its detractors who ranted to anyone who would listen about not just corporate greed but the ethical quandaries brought about by humans playing God. Still, despite the furor, OTC as they were more commonly known had advanced the original “empty shell” version of their clones to versions that could support, with only minor errors, a complete transference of one’s consciousness from old to new.
Every person who entered the transference lab came with a life of memories. They left with the same soul in a different body.
