Are many beasts, and fish, and animals on lands and rivers, sewers, lakes, seas. Cooking Guide, this, mine. For different ways to prepare meat, caught, and some ways for how can cook it.

Beasts:
Are five kinds of beasts, them, that can hunt. Flying Snake beasts, Four Leg beasts, Two Claw beasts, and weak and strong kinds, of Hovering Shroud beasts. Each, them, has different kind of meat, and hide can use, either for eating or make into components, them.

Eat Raw

First way of prepare beast meat, is eat raw. Possible do this, with each kind of beast. But. Not always tastes good, this. Has strong, sometimes pungent flavor, it. That. Unless used to it, can overpower lot other flavors. And. Can take time, for get used to taste of meat, that.

With Flying Snakes, tail meat, theirs. Most edible, and, meat, theirs, has many bones on it. So. If choose to eat them raw, need be careful, for pull out bones from tail meat, theirs. So none choke on bones, those.

Clean Meat

But are other ways, of prepare meat. To make beast meat, that, not taste as strong. First way, is to clean meat. After meat been collected and butchered, can rinse and soak meat in cold water, with either little bit of salt. Or. Can use flowers of plants, that grow outside Trinity sanctuary. Flowers, them, can give nice spring flavor to meat. But. Be careful none use any poison flowers, them.

After rinse or soak meat, make sure meat, that, next is pat dry. Then can start use meat, that, for other ways of cooking. One great thing about beast meat, is can also take on other flavors, in delicious and tasty way. So. If have access, to good and fresh spices. Can make season beast meat, in any way.

Knowing how to clean meat, is also lot helpful, when catching other fish or animals on lands, them. Way of Clean Meat, this, also great when used, on mudfish that live in umbric sewers and still ponds, there. Give strong recommend, mine, for use way of Clean Meat with any fresh hunted meat, that plan to eat soon. If clean it, then wait for long while. Meat, this, can go rancid. And. None good, that.

Cleaned Meat Recipes:

1 - Steamed and wrapped claw meat, with lemons and spicy peppers
Without harm meat inside, break down claws from two Two Claw beasts. Rinse meat, in cold salt water, then pat dry. Grind mix of spices and seeds, into fine powder. And cover meat with powder, this. Slice several lemons, in rounds, and cover claw meat, on both sides with rounds of lemon. If have fresh bunch of curry leaves, can also cover claw meat, with those too. After. Wrap meat, that, in large banana leaf. Makes four parcels, these.

Fill bottom part of empty canister, with water, less than half way. Make sure, use canister, that can withstand some heat. On top of open canister, lay down several straight sticks. Will be used, these, for hold parcels. Then. Take other empty canister, and place on top. So creates larger closed pair of canisters, these. Place above coals, so as water boils, creates steam, and cooks parcels, those. After some while, meat will be ready for eat.


2 - Skewered and roasted eel and flying snake
First. Clean both in fresh cold water. Maybe have slime, or dirt, or sludge on them. So. Need make sure, thorough clean. After, butcher in following way. Make long cut along back, next to spine, theirs. Fold open, them. So expose organs, and spine, theirs. Remove all organs, inside. Save organs, these. Because can use them, as bait, for catch other fish, or animals, too. Next, remove long spine, along back, theirs. After butcher, wash them again in clean water, so are none trace of blood inside, them.

Next. Can season meat, with spices and peppers, them. But. Dont season too much. Eel meat, is not strong by itself. So. Is easy for seasoning, to overwhelm taste of meat. Layer flying snake meat, and eel meat, on top of each other. So. Skins, theirs, face outward. With narrow, sharp sticks, skewer layers of meat, this. Threading, through both layers. After, can place skewers, pointy side in ground next to fire. Somewhat close to heat, turning skewer often. This way, gives crispy skin, and juicy meat.

Cure with Salt

While can use Clean Meat for prepare meat, just after catch. If want to preserve meat, so can last lot longer, way of Clean Meat, is not lot helpful, that. So. Need start consider different ways, instead. First way, is to Cure with Salt. Way, this, requires some tools.

Will first need, good supply of salt. Either, been crushed into flaky gravel. Or. Can also use thick blocks of salt too, cut into layers. Last, also need empty Canister, for hold all this.

Way of Cure with Salt, is good way for use, on meat that is lot tough, or chewy to eat, if tried to eat it raw. Leg meat from Four Leg beasts, and cheek meat from Two Claw beasts, is great kind of meat, to use preparation, this. When cure this kind of meat, with Salt. Salt, this, draws out strong flavor from meat, into salt. So after, while meat has some salt taste to it, is not harsh to eat. Salt, that, now contains all strong flavor from beast meat. So. Can be discarded, or isolated, or used in other ways.

Meat that have left over now, after prepare, this. Can last for long time. Way of Cure with Salt, also great to use on many fishes, too. So. Salted fish, that. Can be stored, and eaten lot later.

Cure with Salt Recipes:

3 - Layered salt-cured four-leg meat, with smoked trout
Prepare one canister, to hold lot flaky gravel-like salt. Cover bottom of canister, with salt, this. And. Start to place leg meat, from Four Leg beast inside canister, covering complete with salt, it. Canister can hold, maybe eight or ten meat, here. Place canister, this, in someplace cool and dark, with not lot moisture, for sit for eight days.

After, with back of knife, break away salt and dig out meat. Only need remove what need, you, for eat. Other meat, in there, can last for long while. Meat, that, has become less tough, it. And. Easier for slice. With one whole leg meat, it, start cut into large rounds. Then. On skewer, place one round of leg meat, then, one layer of smoked trout. Next can start add other foods, here. Can add layer, of large pepper, or round of fruit, then repeat, until have skewer, filled with layers of tasty leg meat, trout, and vegetables and fruit. Last. Season with fresh lemon juice, and little bit of salt. Recipe, this. Will taste some sour, some salty. So. Also good idea, is prepare side of fresh berries, and honeycomb, too.

4 - Cured cheek meat, from two claw beasts, with preserved limes
Will need use large blocks of salt, for this. After butcher away, cheek meat of several Two Claw beasts. Layer meat, that, onto one large block of salt. Make sure layer, that, even and flat. Then. Place another block of salt, onto layer of meat, that. Bind together, blocks, those, with layer of meat inside. And bundle in animal hide. Leave sit, this, for ten days.

After time passed, this. Unbind bundle, and remove top block of salt. Will see, block of salt, that, has turned lot dark, it. Set aside. Meat, now, also has turned dark color. As needed, slice meat into thin strips. Meat, this. Can be wrapped around small preserved limes, and then skewered, so easy to eat. Makes great treat, this, especially on warm days of spring.


Dry in Hot Air

Last way of prepare, is to Dry in Hot Air. Way, this, removes strong flavor from beasts, by drying out meat, that. So. Strong flavor, that, all gone. But. In process, meat, this, becomes dry, withered, and sometimes brittle.

To do this, need find parts of lands, where is open to sky and bright sun above. And. Air is hot, and dry. Two places, great for this. Both Barrows lands, and Valley cliffs. But. Can also use smoker, for hang meat high above smoke, and let dry out, that way. But. If choose use smoker, you. Need keep watch, on fire, that. So not spreads to anywhere else.

Way of Dry in Hot Air, is great way for take large pieces of meat, dry them out, and then break down into small pieces for cooking. Can be used, this, on large fishes in sea under Threshold, in island lands. Way, this, also great way for make dried pieces of meat, so can be used later, in stews. Or. For dry out meat, or bones, and then grind that into meat powder. Powder, that. Lot useful component, in cooking, for adding flavor. But. Also useful, in many rituals, too. Shroud beasts, dont have lot meat on them. But. Bones, theirs, have lot tasty marrow in it.

Dry in Hot Air Recipes:

5 - Roasted marrow and root vegetables
Place several large rib bones, or leg bones, from Hovering Shroud beasts, and places them close to, and above hot coals. Make sure bones, these, unbroken, before do this. After while, and bones, them, turn dark. Remove from heat, and let cool, them. After have cooled, then drill small holes along one side, into bones, these. And. Leave to hang in hot dry air, for at least seven days.

After days passed, these. Remove bones, and start to crack open bones, by hitting them with back of knife, in between holes, these. Should make, for clean easy break. Inside, tasty marrow, dried and withered. Set aside. Next, roast carrots, parsnips, gourds, pumpkin above fire. Make sure chop vegetables, these, into large bits, first. After roast, mix vegetables, and marrow, in large stone bowl, and place bowl, that, above fire. Stir often. Marrow will start dissolve, and after short while, will be ready for eat.

6 - Dried, then ground spiced snake meat
First. Use same kind of butcher, as above with Flying Snake meat. But. Instead of skewer, and place next to fire. Flying snakes, these, can be lanced, and hung outside, in hot dry air. Good opportunity, this, for also season flying snake meat, that. With different kinds of spices. Make sure, place that hang meat, this, at, has hot air, that moves only little bit. If place in location, that is too windy, dust and sand, can move through air, onto meat, this. And. None tastes good that. Leave to hang, for several days, checking often.

After several days, when meat, has withered and become tough. Remove from hangings, this. And. Chop meat, with sharp knife, into small bits. Next, will take tough bits, these, and grind into powder. After make into powder, can add some small amount of water, and some lemon juice. And mix, to create paste. Paste, this. Lot tasty, if spread on carrots, or even some tough fruit: apples, or quince. Or. Can even use powder, and paste, this. To season other kinds of fish, or eel, when cooking, them.
