Carving Contest

[Turvy]

Thanks to everyone that entered the Pumpkin Carving Contest, you all did great! I took a sketching of each jack-o-lantern to share with everyone.


1st place - Entropy:
The smell of a burnt pumpkin fills your senses. The carving shows the face of a true Devil, its eyes narrowed, cold, and hard and glowing with the promise of mischief. Its upper section contains a number of dominant characteristics including a nose that narrows to a blunted end with a strong, even brow line. The beginning of its horns appear at its temples. The lower part of its face is long-boned and serious, tapering down to a pointed chin.

2nd place - LadySilver:
The pristine pumpkin has been carved to show a scene of a city in a dome and the stars shining over it. A bit of magic seems apparent as a comet streaking across the domed sky now and then. The lit candle placed gently inside makes the room smell of cloves as they were placed inside the pumpkin wall. on the back there are two triangular eyes and a jagged smile with a well placed spider crawling out of the pumpkins mouth )ag(

Uthanatos:
This small pumpkin has thousands of tiny runes etched into the front of it to form the outline of a face which illuminates through the flesh of the pumpkin, laughing maniacally. The size of the runes varies from half a centimeter to two millimeters depending on the thickness of the line. If translated, they read, "In the moment of death, all things are possible" over and over again.

Coraal:
The flesh of this gourd is delicately carved down to paper thinness. Upon the skin is a scene of dreamers, posed as though dancing around a bonefire. A single candle burns within the hollowed shell directly behind the bonfire, casting flickers of light and shadow. When in the light, the dancers appear merry and in celebration; laughing and frolicking. But when in shadow, the images take a sinister appearance with expressions of woe and terror on the faces of the dreamers. A shifting scene back and forth.

Elmer:
Carved into the pumpkin are deep grooves, One large eye is open in shock and the other oozes sludge. A crooked pointed nose has flared nostrils with slime dripping from one nostril. The mouth has only 4 teeth uneven and jagged in a gruesome smile.

I am not sure who submitted this one, but I believe it was Tamarisk:
A large and oblong vegetable that has been bejeweled and covered in a glittery substance. It has two eyes that look out at nothing in particular. The smile upon its face is eerie and missing many teeth. The "pumpkin" glows from within by a hidden source. *)0(*
