Biography of Neil - Restore Task

Post by Neil »

As part of one of a Restore task, I was asked to share a Biography of Neil:

Entering the city during the Lyra-era, Neil dreamed in a time where all the houses were open, dreamers walked around in the hundreds, hunting was plentiful but crowded, and spheres ranged from first to sixth. Neil was quickly adopted and guided through the dream by BladeSlayer and his wife Leya, who he called father and mother. He, too, was a rising SoulMaster, protecting others and the dream. He was pushed toward the house, Dreamers of Light, where he made his home on top of Mt. Illapse. Neil was only beginning to learn his true path as he continued to grow and his dreams became more exciting.

House beliefs ruled the dream. This was a cause of many disputes and wars between houses and dreamers. Even the view of how to treat a darkmare in the dream was disputed across houses. Neil usually stood very neutral when it came to issues, but he defended his house and other dreamers who he considered allies and friends. He was one of the top duelist in multiple tournaments within his sphere for both his blade and flame. One of his friends, Ruben, a DreamSeer, spent a lot of time with Neil. They would spent countless hours dreaming, dueling, competing, genning, etc. One was always trying to out do the other. As Neil continued, he started to grow stronger than Ruben, however Neil’s orbits and spheres were quickly outpacing his arts as there was the lack of SoulMaster teachers available. Eventually it would cost him his true ability to grow and protect others in the dream.

As time continued to pass, Neil had not seen his father, for several dreams or his mother for that matter. Both seemed to have went missing after the death of his grandfather Achilles. Achilles was a large part of Neil’s upbringing as a protector in the dream. And now, lost in the dream with no true guidance, Neil spent the vast amount of his remaining dreams searching and hoping for their return. As a young dreamer, Neil didn’t know what to do. Roaming around the dream feeling empty, unsure
how to proceed, he found himself making poor decisions. He decided that Dreamers of Light was no longer a good fit for him, although he stayed connected with several of the house members after his departure. Neil still found himself in the midst of several house disputes between DoL and HC. Neil was helping members from both houses, causing himself to be put on each houses collapse on site list for helping the enemy. This because of his desire to help protect his friends and fellow dreamers.

Neil ended his last dream the same way he spent most his other dreams, helping a fellow dreamer. This time he felt a weight lifted off of him. Neil allowed his friend Firestryfe to gain experience from his agony and sacrificing his very being. While Firestryfe collapsed Neil over and over, the searing pain which rip at his soul also washed over him like a wave of relief. The emotional imbalance which he carried over his dreams was suddenly lifted from his mind, as if none of it mattered any longer.

Neil recently came back to the city to find much has changed. Here, is where Neil gets to start his story over...
