Frey: first of all, thanks for coming
Frey: The goal of these workshops ultimately is the creation of locate teacher as a useable art. This is the first time I've done anything like this, so feel free to add to the discussion and I'm completely open to suggestions
Frey: My plan is to have a shorter meeting on wednesdays.. 15-20 minutes in length to go over the previous results and plan how we go about the longer, saturday experiments.

Frey: Those will be 45 minutes to an hour in length. I'm really going to try to keep these moving along to keep them interesting. It might not ALWAYS be two a week, if we hit a slow spot in the research.. but for now that's the idea.
Frey: so again.. Again wednesday and saturdays at 8PM right here. Originally I had envisioned a simple locate, where a list of teachers/elders would appear upon evoke, along with their location..

Frey: But its been suggested that we can perhaps further refine it to show teachers of any particular focus by merging locate dreamer with the primary filtering system for Drain Self.
Frey: perhaps this would allow us the ability to see those teachers aligned with the particular focal energy we're seeking. It's an ambitious yet perfectably feasible option, if we're going to be over-ambitious it should be early on though. We can gradually refine it as the project goes further
Frey: We'll have to consider the privacy of teachers, maybe not allowing it to detect those without active halos. But I believe MT's at least are being discouraged to remove theirs, also theres the effectiveness of mindblank to consider.
Lu Chaos: Meh, just make MB be able to block it.
Rasputin: I think Lu Chaos has figured out the solution there
Frey: of course the first goal is adapting locate to target halos specifically

Frey: This won't be an easy feat but not impossible either. Dreamsoul is remarkably versatile regarding both its filtering capability and ability to transfer data.

Rasputin: If we just adapt locate to find halos then it wouldn't find Mind Blanked teachers anyways.

Purple Lace: Except for the fact that MT's have to always wear their halos, per Akkadian.

Frey: We're going to start this coming saturday by modifying locate through a galvanostat, a gizmo that will allow us to both oscillate AND measure the active frequency of locate

Rasputin: Do you imagine us recieving the information much like Newly Awakened or Sense Datoken?
Rasputin: But with information about Focus?
Frey: I did want to go with sense early on.. it seemed the easier option
Rasputin: Sense Dreamer?
Frey: Uthy suggested Locate, as we're going to try to get the most detailed information possible
Frey: yes. piggyback off of that rather than locate.
Rasputin: Sense Dreamer wouldn't give specific information would it? just that there are more Teachers in Threshold than Harrow right now
Frey: the ability to get the focus as well would be tremendous though.
Flower of Cienn: I dont think the focus of the teacher would be something I need to sense.
Arlyana Jax chuckles at Flower
Rasputin: You might not need it, but a younger dreamer might.
Frey: no, thats why we're using locate
Rasputin: That's why I asked about Newly Awakened or Sense Datoken

Arlyana Jax : When I start work on Identify Curse and Judgment, I may have some ideas for you
Frey: its just an early idea. I kind of agree with you flower it seems over ambitious at this stage.

Arlyana Jax: It might be something to aim for further down the line
Lu Chaos: Just a list of teachers currently in the city including Elders would suffice with me.
Arnaya: Meh, shoot for the sun and you'll still end up among the stars
Flower of Cienn: Yeah and elders.

Rasputin: Do you imagine that this is an art that we'd have every Newly Awakened know?

Flower of Cienn: I think they should be able to mind blank, since they cannot remove their halos.
Arlyana Jax: Birth art would be fantastic
Frey: But it would be great for vets and newlies both
Frey: it would free up some slots on our current locate as well.
Rasputin: I think it would be very useful for Newly Awakened to know this art.

Frey: I thought of that as well. For true newlys thresh will be their best bet. The art's not going to solve all of their problems.
Flower of Cienn: Maybe teachers can sense when its evoked?
Arlyana Jax: About as much as Sense

Lu Chaos: Nah, they'd probably love it.

Frey: additionally it might spur dreamers to learn from those they usually wouldnt, which is a positive thing

Frey: Well these are all good questions and i look forward to finding out the answers.
Purple Lace: What if there was the option for the teacher to know if someone's looking for them?
Purple Lace: That'd be hepful.
