The Adventures of SweetPea & Figbert
Chapter One - Part 1: The Fateful Meeting
By: Anasina R. Dupree

Once upon a time, there was a little plush bogrom named Figbert. Figbert was a devious sort, but oh so fabulous, with golden scales and azure tipped toes. He struts along the path, listening with pride to the awe and gasps of the other, much plainer mares. None could compare to his magnificence!

One day, however, Figbert saw a crowd gathering on Lambent. What would mares want on Lambent? His curiosity was too much to resist, so he traveled to the tall waterfall, where all the mares were gathered near the water. He pushed his way through the crowd, and spotted a cyan scaled, plush agoknight.

The plush agoknight, known around the city as SweetPea, was well loved by the other mares. She was beautiful, even by dreamer standards, and her golden claws ripped through all but the most skilled of fighters! But she didn't just fight well, oh certainly not! SweetPea rescued smaller mares, wearing a saddle on her back to carry these mares to safer locations. She was truly the greatest of plush mares.

Though most other mares adored SweetPea, Figbert couldn't stand her. He showed his disdain for SweetPea through various pranks. Peanut butter would be found under poor SweetPea's saddle, her sugar cubes would be replaced with salt... The poor little plushy agoknight couldn't catch a break from Figbert! The more Figbert picked on SweetPea however, the more the other mares began to glare at him and offer SweetPea solutions to the pranks. It seemed the more he picked on the beloved agoknight the more loved she became, and the more the other mares began to dislike Figbert.

As a result of his actions, Figbert found himself alone - though still quite fabulous - walking through Lost Caves. He was all by himself, until he walked into the West Cave, where he saw SweetPea, chittering at a portal with her claws out. When Figbert shuffled in, however, she turned to face him, a shocked look in her eyes. It was then that a loud roar echoed through the Caves.

Figbert froze, staring in horror as a large shambling mass of leather and bone phased through the portal, reaching out a jagged claw. With a squeaky roar, SweetPea swung her pincher-like claw toward the beast, the datoken letting out a roar of pain. Figbert watched in horror as the jagged claw hit the floor, barely noticing SweetPea as she bounced and slithered toward him. Quickly, SweetPea scooped Figbert up into her arms and ran toward the portal on the other side of the room.

The Adventures of SweetPea & Figbert
Chapter One - Part 2: The Great Beast
By: Anasina R. Dupree

SweetPea didn't stop bouncing through the portals, holding on tight to the golden bogrom in her arms. The deafening roars behind her, the crashing of chakram blasts against the walls and the look of terror on Figbert's face reminded her the beast was still on her tail, floating after them with such unbelievable speed.

As SweetPea reached the portal to Lower Basin, a claw grasped her soft tail, flinging her across the open cavern. Figbert slide across the floor, spinning about in a circle across the stone. He watched in horror as the shambling mass made its way toward the still stunned plush agoknight, still trying to sit back up. Figbert knew what he had to do.

SweetPea struggled, looking up at the massive mare getting closer and closer to her. She was preparing to extend her claw, when the beast roared in sudden pain, a golden claw lashing out from over her head. Looking behind her, SweetPea saw Figbert, sitting on her saddle, claws extended out for battle.

They knew what they had to do! The mare couldn't focus on them both! SweetPea stood up and focused on moving, making jabs toward the datoken with her golden claws while Figbert smacked at it from over her shoulder. Whenever Faku went behind them, SweetPea focused on him with her tail, while Figbert defended with the shield he'd picked up. The mare couldn't get an opening!

The two plush mares fought for a short while, managing to keep close and near Faku's feet to keep from taking too many hits from the mare's chakram. Mid-battle, however, the sound of many footsteps echoed through the caverns. Dreamers flooded the battlefield, firing their chakrams and barely even noticing the plushies trying to get out of the way without being stepped on. The plush mares heard Faku collapse before they even slipped through the portal to Lower Basin.

Standing by the water in the temple of kitties, the two took a moment to recover. SweetPea rewove his torn leg and Figbert sharpened the golden blade of her tail. After a short while, the pair looked at each other. SweetPea looked at Figbert, Figbert looked at SweetPea, and they understood once thing: they could not survive in this dream alone. SweetPea extended her claw to Figbert, and he clasped onto it. With a heave, the plush agoknight pulled Figbert onto her saddle and slithered away, Figbert's clawed arms wrapped around her neck.

The Adventures of SweetPea & Figbert
Chapter Two - Part 1: The Fabulous Beasts
By: Anasina R. Dupree-Aileron

Ever since Faku attacked Lost Caves, the mare plushies Figbert and SweetPea were inseparable. Wherever SweetPea traveled, Figbert was there on her saddle, looking ever so fabulous as always! No one could figure out what caused this sudden attachment, as Figbert had been such a bitter, hateful creature to the beloved agoknight in the recent past.

SweetPea noticed that everyone was still so bitter to her new traveling companion and wanted to change their opinions of him. After all they had been through together, she wanted to help Figbert be seen as the kind, heroic, insecure plushy he truly was. To do this, she decided to hold a maren fashion show, and have Figbert help judge it in hopes he'd show how open minded he is.

To help with the actual fashion part of things, SweetPea went to one dreamer who she knew would help a little mare plushy be fashionable: Jeryana Ax. She slithered up to the facade of Calenture, ignoring the raised brow of a black vested ruler and the curious wide eyes of his blonde companion, not to mention the suspicious glare of the giant green lizard man who was pointing a chakram at her. Looking up at the barefooted woman, SweetPea drew onto the dirt with her claw, depicting the image of a shamblix flipping its hood fabulously. With a nod and a smile, the dainty woman agreed.

Over the next few weeks, Jeryana Ax would meet with datokens, kotokes and even lesser mares down in Umbric. She crafted them all such wondrous outfits, and though the mares were still hunted, they were fabulous! Emphants were dressed in sparkly sashes, Shamblixes and Horrons were in capes of silk, satin and lace, the agoknights had the most enchanting dresses and the bogroms looked amazing in their new skirts! One could not deny that the mares were the best dressed they'd ever been!

The ballroom was decorated from floor to ceiling with tapestries of red and black, little paper mare faces hanging from the ceiling with brightly red painted eyes and gold and silver glitter covered the floor. Figbert and SweetPea stood at the top of the stairs with Baxtra, mares dressed in colorful garb dancing and wiggling away below, eating treats from the local bakery. It was a loud and very festive night!

The night was going amazingly, and finally SweetPea smacked her tail blade against the railing to get the attention of the many mares. They ignored her at first, until Baxtra let out a loud roar in assistance. The mares turned their attention immediately to SweetPea, if for nothing else than so Baxtra wouldn't do anything worse. The plush agoknight gestured to everyone, then to her judge, Figbert, encouraging him to come forward. Stepping aside, SweetPea could only hope he'd not make a fool of himself.

The Adventures of SweetPea & Figbert
Chapter Two - Part 2: The Most Fabulous
By: Anasina R. Dupree-Aileron

Standing to the side, SweetPea and Baxtra watched with visible tension as Figbert took center stage along the edge of the banister. With his head held high, Figbert waves SweetPea and Baxtra toward the stairs and made his way down as elegantly as a four legged plush could manage, the two mares following close behind. They made their way around the stairs and into the curve of the stairs.

The three mares stood between the stairs and gestured for the contestants to begin. The contestants were many and in a variety of different clothing styles. Shamblixes pranced along in glamorous sashes and cloaks, emphants with fancy ribbons flying in circles to show off their tails. Everyone was so colorful and full of life as they danced in circles and roared with the music.

SweetPea and Baxtra were clearly leaning toward voting for a horron who was powerfully clad in a night and jade robe with shiny silver threading. Figbert, however, was drawn to a tiny emphant, smaller than the average emphant, bouncing about in a gold scarf with berry flowers embroidered into the fabric. Though the scarf was horrible looking, her energy was intoxicating.

The three began their discussions and, though he was clearly out voted, Figbert was adamant that the emphant in gold and berry should win the contest. He would not accept that the horron would win and threw such a fit over the emphant that Baxtra had to have him pulled from the ballroom kicking screaming by the shamblix Botaii. He was thrown from the ballroom as the horron was awarded her prize, and lumbered off quietly, kicking a small pebble.

After the fashion show was over, Figbert was sitting there drinking apple juice with the bogrom in Bogrom's Lair. Granted there was no alcohol in the juice, but it was all about the thought, of course. SweetPea peeked into the room quietly and flopped down next to the sulking Figbert under the UoC arch. The bogrom let out a snort in her direction, but otherwise ignored her, watching anxiously for soulmasters with the art of Trap Nightmare. For a moment, they sat there in silence as SweetPea stared at him, until the portal chimed.

In came that emphant, still wearing that gold and berry scarf, and coiled up next to Figbert. The mare looked so happy, eyes all bright as she looked at the plush mare, whose expression softened just a bit. The emphant had been so happy he stood up for her, and now he was sulking like a hatchling. No, this could not be! They'd all three return together, and they'll roar at the moon from the fun they'll have completely ignoring Baxtra and his winning horron.

The Adventures of SweetPea & Figbert - FINAL!

The Adventures of SweetPea & Figbert
Chapter Two - Part 3: The Young Emphant
By: Anasina R. Dupree-Aileron

The three mares marched back toward the ballroom, determined to have the greatest of times, no matter who won the competition! When they returned, however, no one was there! The entire ballroom was empty with only the glitter left on the floor. The celebration had ended without them.

Figbert was already starting to sulk again, but the little emphant wouldn't have it. She snatched the plush bogrom's arm in her maw and flapped off through Threshold Pits at high speed, SweetPea rushing off behind the two. Figbert flailed and squeaked, unable to get free from the small emphant as she dragged him along.

Poor Figbert thought the emphant would never let him go, dragging him across the planes. When the emphant finally let him go, Figbert found himself in the maze in Lower Basin. SweetPea slumped over on entry, completely exhausted after running after the two. The room was covered in nesting material, chewed dolls, balls and other toys. A small sanctuary for a little emphant trying to make her way in the world.

Together, the three sat and ate jerky and fruit, squeaking and roaring until the sun rose in the Basin sky. Figbert hopped onto SweetPea's saddle and waved to the emphant as the two left, the emphant squeaking and flapping her wings in farewell. The two went home to their cave in Lost Caves, SweetPea sluggish as she let out a squeak of a yawn. She immediately flopped over onto her cloth nesting material and fell asleep, Figbert curling up on his warm rock.

The next morning, everyone was talking about the event last night. The horron was bragging quite a bit about her victory, Baxtra could care less about any of it, and overall everyone seemed to have had a great time. There was one thing that differed among a lot of them though: their reactions to Figbert's outburst.

Many of the mares believed that Figbert's outburst was just him throwing his usual tantrums. Some of them, however, were listening to a small emphant, leaping up and down in the library. She had been chattering about how Figbert stood up for her and spent all night playing games and telling her stories to make her feel better about her loss. Though it might not have been how SweetPea had planned, but Figbert's reputation certainly improved after what he did for that little emphant.

THE END!!!

The Adventures of SweetPea & Figbert
Chapter Three - Part 1: The New Task
By: Anasina R. Dupree-Aileron

With everyone looking at Figbert in a better light, things were going smooth for SweetPea and Figbert. They continued to travel along together, Figbert riding along on SweetPea's saddle as they avoided aggressive dreamers and found delicious snacks. One day in January however, after their defeat of some brightly dressed man with a sack, they were called to meet with Baxtra in the Dark Awakening.

Arriving in the oddly warm, murky plane, the two made their way to one of the stone platforms where Baxtra was waiting for them. Standing there with his cloak billowing in the wind, the horron turned to face the two plushies, his red eyes gleaming under his hood. His words were clear: the plushies were to have a new responsibility.

The next day, the dreamers were so confused, chattering about the latest development in the city: The lesser mares were respawning faster!! Me'te, a local fatesender who loved to firestorm horrons, noticed that the horrons were coming back before he could even regenerate his lucidity! Everyone voted that Kael Ross and Jeremy Raid should look into the issue.

Kael Ross was a timid dreamer, and she was quite reluctant as she followed Jeremy into Threshold Pits with her trusty chamele alteror in hand. Jeremy rolled his eyes and explained the plan again: she'd remain chameled as usual while he took down the emphant, then he'd chamele with her and they'd see what happens from there. Shrugging, Kael remained close by as they made their way to the Path of Honor.

Once they got onto the Path of Honor, Kael immediately chameled and hid by the portal as Jeremy removed the emphant's head with his blade. Using his chamele alteror quickly, Jeremy ducked down by the portal with Kael, and the two watched the decapitated emphant on the floor. Whatever they were expecting to see, it certainly wasn't a plush agoknight with a plush bogrom on its back making its way through the portal and up the stairs.

The two dreamers watched in silent intrigue as the two plushies made their way to the decapitated emphant. Figbert pulled a black scale off of the mare carcass, while SweetPea pulled a glass bottle full of glowing purple liquid out of one of her saddle pouches. The mares placed the scale in the purple liquid, letting it soak for a couple of seconds, before pulling it out once more and placing it on the open wound of the mare. Kael and Jeremy gazed on in a mix of awe and terror as the mare stood back up, his head regenerating at a rapid speed. They had to let the rest of the city know what these plushies were doing.

The Adventures of SweetPea & Figbert
Chapter Three - Part 2: A Solution for Crisis
By: Anasina R. Dupree-Aileron

SweetPea and Figbert went around the city, healing slain lesser mares with the purple liquid Baxtra gave them and the scales of the fallen mares. It was a simple thing, and it made SweetPea feel so fulfilled as she helped her fellow mare. They were enjoying their new work so much that they did not notice that the dreamers were quickly becoming more agitated.

In response to the mare plushie threat, the dreamers called a meeting in Gold Sanctuary in Edgeward Barrows. Each of the open houses were represented by their greatest strategists and most creative minds. However, with all of these great minds, came theories and ideas that clashed, leading to much arguing.

Some dreamers felt the plush mares were doing them a favor, increasing how many essences houses could get each day. Others felt that the purple liquid was just the beginning - that an attack using the formula could occur. Een more began pondering how they could use it to create new methods for powering the primes.

"ENOUGH!", declared a dreamer of bright azure, bringing the room's deafening cacophony to a close. "The problem is not within this substance, but in those who are currently using it. We shall strike down these plush mares, take the substance from their remains, and begin studies from there.", the man decreed with a loud, booming voice as he stood in the center of the golden room.

None could deny his logic, and though some who knew the mares as amusing or even lovable, the dreamers agreed with the azure clad dreamer's words. Within a couple hours, the dreamers were able to put together a trap for the little agoknight and bogrom.

Meanwhile, Sweetpea and Figbert were continuing to revive emphants and bogroms on Evernight, never knowing the danger that was coming their way...

The Adventures of SweetPea & Figbert
Chapter Three - Part 3: The Strange Encounter
By: Anasina R. Dupree-Aileron

The sound of fabric brushing across stone signalled the arrival of the two plushies as they climbed the spiral staircase. Upon entry of the Bile Crypt, they saw a sight that was rather strange, even for them.

Laid out upon the siltstone floor is a decapitated emphant body - but it was the biggest emphant the two plush mares had ever seen! The body was at least a foot longer than the average emphant, and as thick as three or more emphants put together!

The two plush mares gazed in a combination of awe and confusion, circling the odd body. Figbert finally, in his curiosity, reached out with his golden claw, gently poking it with such confusion in his prismatic eyes.

No matter how strange the mare, though, the two plushies had a mission! So, Figbert reached into SweetPea's saddle while the agoknight plushie gathered a scale from the odd body, the sounds of claws clicking lightly against glass echoing through the room.

As they reached to place the soaken scale into the headless base of the mare, however, the plushies found their arm-like limbs grasped quite suddenly! To their surprise, two dreamer arms reached out of the neck opening of the corpse, the hands grasping hard upon their soft limbs!

Before the startled plushies could even react to this unexpected development, a creaking sound breaks through the sound of shuffling fabric. SweetPea's emerald beaded eyes glance up just in time to see a wooden cage fall over them, a cloud of dust billowing about the room. As the plushies realized their predicament, dreamers began emerging from the shadows.

The Adventures of SweetPea & Figbert
Chapter Three - Part 4: The Strange Vial
By: Anasina R. Dupree-Aileron

Trapped in their wooden cage, the pair of plushies watched on as the group of dreamers that had gathered them circled around their cage. Fleshy hands reached out and took from them the vial of purple liquid they had been using all this time. There were too many words being said at once for the plushies to understand. SweetPea gazed up at the dreamers with such sadness and confusion, Figbert standing in front of her, his prismatic eyes narrowed in her defense.

Kuth Manytoes, an oddly named chemist of the dream city, stood among his many vials. Pouring a little of the purple liquid in about five different vials of resilience filled liquid, the white robed man began to heat each of the vials, the liquids slowly beginning to separate.

There were several things that were consistent with each vial after a few moments of heating the mixtures. Black sediment fell to the bottom of the vials, almost like stone flakes. The purple liquid itself hovered just below the resilient liquid, an almost glowing, slimey liquid.

But the thing that interested Kuth and others more than anything, was the black liquid that bubbled down and upward in an almost gooey redness that swirled lightly into the other liquids. Some began to suspect it to be some sort of liquid chaos, but the following tests showed no sign that was the case.

The gathered dreamers seperated the odd substance from the other liquids and particles. Everyone began dividing the substance into various vials and testing its reaction to various elements. With dreamsoul, it formed a barrier around itself, turning into a small pearl with a white shell. These pearls, when broken, revealed the black and red substance had solidified into a rock with red swirls inside. Lucidity made the red coloration expand and coil. The fatesender responsible found himself with red swirls dancing along his arm, though they did no damage. Will did quite the opposite, expanding out the inky blackness, but forming sort of a paste. The effects of it were unknown. Resilience did nothing to it, seeming to almost refuse to blend with the substance, while insight turned the black muck into dark red muck. The reactions seemed so strange.

The dreamers did not have long to ponder their findings, however. As the two plushies sat frightened within their wooden cage, a roar echoed throughout the plane. Gasps and whispers filled the room as everyone began to squeeze alterors and arm their chakrams, for they knew what was to come through the portal before he even arrived. With whisping shadows across his form and narrowed eyes glowing red, Baxtra slowly pulled himself through the portal, his low growl rumbling through the room.

The Adventures of SweetPea & Figbert
Chapter Three - Part 5: The Tower
By: Anasina R. Dupree-Aileron

Before anyone could react, the massive mare all but filled the room. A gigantic claw BASHED down onto the cage holding the two plushies, Sweetpea and Figbert scrambling to hide in a corner as dreamers aimed their chakrams at the chaotic mass.

SweetPea pushed Figbert down into the stone, curling in front of him as Baxtra's gigantic form threshed and writhed, slamming dreamers into walls, knocking vials onto the floor. Dreamers fired their chakrams desperately, hoping to stop the onslaught of the mighty beast.

Flaming chakrams crashed against the walls, which crumbled under the strength of the claws of the force within it. SweetPea could only squeak and hide with Figbert, as the battle took place.

The combatants didn't notice what their fight was causing. They didn't notice that their ever flowing dreamsoul was mingling with the substance on the floor. They didn't notice that their flames were heating up the goo among the broken glass.

No, no one noticed as the matter began to solidify and pile upon itself, or that red tendrils began to snake around the solid matter, writhing and coiling about. No one noticed but Figbert and SweetPea, whom let out a distressed cry. The dreamers and Baxtra stopped to see what the issue was about just in time to witness the tendrils crush the solid matter.

As the solid matter fell upon the floor, in shards, it mingled more and more with the dreamsoul within the room, continuing to replicate itself further. Quickly, the mares and the dreamers fled the area, the entire room filling with these strange, chaotic pearls and tentrils until it completely crumbled around itself, a giant tower of white and red rising up from the plane.

The Adventures of SweetPea & Figbert
Chapter Four - Part 1: A War of Fear
By: Anasina R. Dupree-Aileron

The rising tower of white could be seen all across the City of Dreams. The ever growing mass had broken through the center of the Provenance, breaking apart the fountain and growing ever taller and wider. None could figure out what to do about this scurge.

Below the massive white mass, dreamers and mares both fought and fled. Chakrams fired, arts blasted through the air, and the sounds of roars and screams echoed through the caverns as all creatures made their way to the rifts, Threshold crumbling under the massive tower's constant expanse.

Scholars and peaceful dreamers begged everyone to cease their fighting, noticing that the dreamsoul left behind was leading to a further expansion of the tower, but none would listen. No, fear and hatred fueled both dreamer and mare alike and nothing but bloodshed could seem to stop it.

Some dreamers got stuck in corners, unable to translocate out because all the places they could translocate were swollowed up by the tower. They could do nothing but wake, hoping to return to the dream. Alas, any attempts to return to the city were thwarted by the mass of white as it took over the courtyard, blocking all entry.

Among those still among the dream was SweetPea and Figbert, hiding among the shadows of Dorsal Rift and trying to avoid the warring dreamers and mares. Figbert clutched onto SweetPea's reins as the two remained ready to run at the slightest hint of danger.

But what they didn't expect, was the hand that reached into their small corner and pulled them out by their plush scruffs, rushing off into the darkness.

Chapter Four - Part 2: Uncertain Allies
By: Anasina R. Dupree-Aileron

Squirming and wailing, the two plush mares had no chance to escape, held tightly in green-robed arms. The struggle didn't last long, though, as they found themselves in the shadows under Dorsal, surrounded by a circle of dreamers.

"You found them! Good job!", declared a plum haired woman in a red tunic, grinning from ear to ear. Nodding, their green-clad captor grinned, looking down at the two as he took a swig of a flask.

The two had no where to hide, but the plumhaired woman smiled at the two, kneeling down. "Hey! I'm Shea! Not a plant.", she said casually, "Heard you might know something about what happened!" The two plushies looked to each other nervously.

Standing up, Shea smiled to the two. "Relax! Make yourselves at home! We'll talk about it once you've settled. Don't take too long, though. We don't want to be crushed under that white stuff, do we?", she asked. Some of the dreamers around her seemed suspicious, but they quickly began to gather some rations and water for the two.

The group of about twenty dreamers kept hidden, avoiding conflict and scavenging for supplies. They treated the two plushies as guests, even stitching up some holes in the two from their time running and hiding. Things seemed to be going well enough for them.

With no where to go, and no hope of going home, the plushie mares could only concede, telling Shea of a project they only knew as Project Multiply...
