Sense Datoken (a work of fiction)

This is purely a work of fiction aside from the names of the creators of the art

Black-Lotus and Folko were both Dreamer teachers of great knowledge and skill. Always seeking to better their focus and balance within the City (they were both members of the Gathering),they conducted many experiments to those ends. Many Datoken plagued the City, too many to Locate all at once. This meant that one not only needed to know the names of all the current Datoken, they needed to be Located one by arduous one. In preparation for battle, this was less than ideal.
Frustrated with being often caught unawares, our two intrepid DreamSeers put their Insightful minds together. The first place to start was with the art of Newly Awakened, which allowed one to 'locate' a newly without needing their name in advance. Keeping the new art within the element of Insight seemed the best course, especially if the same parameters could be carried over. The next issue was how to fine tune the art to the chaotic energy of the Datoke. Drain Essence seemed a logical choice, both as members of the Gathering, neither would consider draining. Their second option was Nightmare Form, a way to alter the chaos within our own avatars to appear maren. Last was the art of Sense Dreamers, which had aided in the creation of Newly Awakened and allowed a general description of an entities location. With the art groundwork laid, the next step was to focus the energy of the arts through a Datoke essence, if not a Datoke themselves, to hopefully create the art. Thus the great harvesting of Datoke essences began, as the Datoke would not submit to remaining still for the experiment to be performed on them.
A line of essences was placed on the ground, one in front of the other, in the hopes of channeling the energy from one essence to another and on down the line, concentrating the chaos. Many assisted in this part, their names lost to history. The energy of the arts flowed through the essences with explosive results, Deafening and Blinding all those present. When the dust had settled, one Datoke essence remained, pulsing with Insight. Carefully Folko and Black-Lotus touched the essence. In a final explosion, they both lost the three arts that had been used to create the art we now know as Sense Datoken.
