Objective
To create a hidden portal within Drali's Drink, concealed behind the flowing waters cascading from the rocky ledges above. The portal, once complete, will connect to an undisclosed location. The process involved embedding an Apnea Sphere into the foundation, which will gradually collect emotional energy from passing dreamers, talismans, and nightmares until the portal forms.
Preparation and Observations
Upon arrival at Drali’s Drink, I was joined by Insonnia, Sadara, and Sirus Nesto. The water cascaded from the ledges above, its constant flow resonating with the natural rhythm of the Flats.
Sirus greeted me briefly, his reserved demeanor evident as he turned his focus to the waterfall. Insonnia arrived with a perceptive and contemplative presence, surveying the environment. She likened the flow of energy to water, observing that as channels widen, trickles can become streams—insight that shaped the ritual. Sadara brought a quiet warmth to the scene, her serene curiosity grounding us.
Sensing a fluctuation of energy behind the water, I declared my intention to call upon Apnea to aid in opening a pathway.
The Ritual: Stablization of Lambent Energy
Stepping into the cool waters, I allowed the pulses of energy beneath the surface to guide me to the center of the Flats. I unfurled a scroll marked with radiant sigils, whispering prayers to the Living Dream. Insonnia knelt by the wall, her fingertips tracing the surface, while Sirus stood silent, observing. Sadara, entranced by the waterfall, lent her calming focus to the effort.
Drawing the Apnea Sphere from my satchel, I imbued it with Lucidity and Will, weaving threads of dreamsoul to stabilize its form. Sirus contributed his strength, channeling a beam of energy from the glowing scar on his hand. I directed the surge into the sphere, stabilizing its chaotic power with Insight.
Insonnia’s role proved crucial as she willed into being, Lambent insects—long-legged, winged creatures carrying glistening drops of water between their delicate wings. These insects worked in unison, directing streams of energy from the walls toward the Power Tokens and sphere. Their rhythmic sawing and buzzing sounds added an eerie but harmonious undercurrent to the ritual.
The insects’ streams coruscated between light and shadow, amplifying the energy of the Lambents into brilliant shades of elemental strength. Their movements became part of the dream’s natural rhythm, weaving seamlessly into the portal’s formation.
Positioning two Power Tokens from the Eclipse Convergence Prism alongside the sphere, I formed a triad of power. Insonnia’s insects channeled their streams of energy into the conduits between the tokens and the sphere, creating a dynamic interplay of shadow and reality.
Sadara’s quiet focus and presence strengthened the ritual’s cohesion. Her serene connection to the dreamscape lent stability to the triad as the energy harmonized.
Completion and Future Progress
With the triad complete, I extended my hands to channel the gathered energy into the Apnea Sphere. Tendrils of light wove across its surface, solidifying its connection to the dreamscape. The insects, still working diligently, became integral to maintaining the energy flow.
The Apnea Sphere began to glow brightly, signaling the successful formation of the portal's foundation. Though incomplete, the portal now exists as a latent construct, hidden behind the waterfall. The sphere will continue to draw emotional energy from the Flats, dreamers, talismans, and nightmares; a slow but steady process that will culminate in the portal’s activation.
As the ritual concluded, I rose and declared, “Here, a gate to Sanctuary for the halflings.” My companions joined in a final invocation:
"Glory to the Living Dream."

This endeavor stands as a testament to the harmony between the Living Dream and the dreamers who serve it.
