The policy stated at this announcement, while it was directed at PMares, applies to player characters as well. Right now, we have a large number of people who have created multiple accounts in order to create additional PMares as well as Player Characters.

Players are limited to ONE KoiWare account. Players should not create a second account for any reason.

Regardless of the reasons for creating a second (or third, or fourth) account, doing so violates the first law of Underlight: Be Honest with the Software. By intentionally bypassing limits on the number of characters you can have, or using a separate account so you can log in with different characters at the same time, you are breaking the rules. Per the rules you agree to at login, we reserve the right to terminate all of the accounts, including all characters, without notice. Using a false name or otherwise fake owner details to create an account is a clearly malicious attempt to avoid detection and will be punished accordingly.

Since this was not explicitly stated in the rules, or on the account creation page, we're offering a chance for all players to get their accounts in order before they are closed. This policy will be stated more clearly in the rules and account pages in the future, but any subsequent violations will result in immediate termination without notice, as the login agreement states.

To avoid having your accounts closed or characters terminated/deleted, send an email to accounts@underlight.com NO LATER THAN Sunday, July 3, 2016 with the account name and characters you want to continue using, as well as accounts and characters you would like to have removed. Keep in mind that your account is limited to four (4) player characters and one (1) PMare. The limit includes the characters you had imported from Lyra or SOT, if any. If we don't hear from you by the end of Sunday, July 3, 2016, characters and/or accounts will be removed at our discretion and changes will not be made after that point, so please send an email as soon as possible.

To clarify, you only need to send us an email if you have multiple accounts open. If you have only one account, no action is needed on your part at this time - your characters will not be affected.

If you have one account but would like to have unused characters removed from your account, you can request that at any time to free up those character slots.

We are currently working on adding an option to allow players to remove characters from their accounts directly from the account page, but in the meantime please email us those requests.

A gentle reminder to everyone that this is the last day to submit requests for account changes regarding this policy. Keep in mind, you can email us anytime if you want characters removed from your KoiWare account to help free character slots.
