No more seneshals. Leonard Scruff and Bastion can take care of house needs, and help push activity. And give the advisor roles back to players.

Give ruler and Guardian crests new meaning. So that inactive dreamers cannot be left in charge.

Ruler and Guardian crests can be signs of senority, other than leadership.

Scruff and Bastion could put out monthly outlines as goals and rewards for the house to follow. This could help with house activty.

Leave ranks alone.

House Seneshals and rank

Post by Koi-Cricket »

Sometimes GM's get spread thin and seneshal characters are not present when you need or want them to. The same with rulers and guardians in a house, a lot of the time someone becomes ruler and does not play or isn't active, or maybe doesn't push activity.

Houses are in-character a place with dreamers with similar beliefs unite under one banner, and out of character are exclusively meant to spur activity, create conflict, and drive the story forward.

Most of the time, the OOC reason becomes a storage facility, a clubhouse for friends, or a place to avoid RPing with specific individuals, typically "enemies." None of those things are viable reasons for a house.

Either a Seneshal, a "landlord" type, or the dreamers themselves, should be continuously striving toward a common goal, even if it fluctuates based on a season. If there's not deliberate, intentional, united activity toward an imposed (rent was a good try), or envisioned goal, the house should close. Otherwise it's individual dreamers working on things, or simply chatting with the same mark on their chest... and they can do that in Threshold.
