Discovering The Hall of Echoes

Greetings fellow dreamers of Underlight. I shared this story with dreamers during an event that I held a couple weeks ago. I revealed a discovery that I have made. For those who might have came in late, or those who were not able to attend, here is a recap of what was shared. We all have a variety o...

Re: Thanks

Hi Zilly,

I just came across this post. I had been looking around for you!
I understand the situation you're in. The time I got to spend with Zilly was very enjoyable and it would be great to see you again, whenever that may be.

Re: Old time Dreamers?

Depends on how old one considers old. Alas my life was struct from the dream and thus i dream no more. Live by the PotR and die by the PotR. Someone I knew recently joked about someone they knew getting a tatoo from they game they played online. That made me think of this game. If there was any tat...

Re: Old time Dreamers?

I know the feeling, but my thrill was probably not as great as yours since i have been in and out of the game over its lifetime. My first character was Skar, who got terminated for something i dont remember now. After that i created Black Cloud who is.. about 16 years old. Now im just known as Cloud...

Re: Dreamstrike: A form of sacrifice?

I totally get the other side of the argument. Since Dreamstrike is a real thing, we've learned to accept it. If there is a GM with the art, we don't have a choice but to adjust our behavior. We've seen it in action and felt it's effects. I've been stuck in a room with a striker and I knew it was a t...

Dreamstrike: A form of sacrifice?

I mean this in all seriousness. This discussion has probably happened more than any other throughout the years, but I've never really shared my opinion. To me, it seems like Dreamstrike is barbaric if it could be applied to the age of computer science and game developers. It makes me feel like we st...

Re: Roleplaying Tips

Great tips! I've never thought to look for this but man, it would have helped a lot. We're usually fed the hero/villain arctypes and so I find myself trying to break away from it. There are so many interesting twists one can put on their character, just takes dedication.

Thank you for sharing your feelings with us, Dina. I know you're talking about how things in game are getting to you, but if you're ever feeling sad or lonely just come hang out in game in good company. You can always let us know you're not in the mood and I think most will adjust course. I don't kn...

Re: Weekend Madness*

Not everyone is into what I am into for my characters, and vice versa. It comes down to compromise. Different scenes for different characters. Different intensity levels. All of us let each other play the characters we dream of playing, within the three rules. This. And its very true that there is ...

Re: Weekend Madness*

Good points OfF, The RP Plats should be brought back to some extent. I my biggest frustration is having to do quests knowing i don't want to. And not just art plats. I feel perfectly happy at 6th sphere to be honest, so why cant i increase my DrS with RP. I mean there are other benefits to 7th, 8th ...

Re: Weekend Madness*

I can get in line with this idea, and i don't see how it dictates how anyone should roleplay in any way. The suggestion is not to make people hunt against their will, but just to give an incentive to hunt at a specific time. Also by keeping a short window you have an opportunity to a large group of ...

Re: Cooperative storytelling rp?

In a sense every player has their own little story line, and what we see everyday is cooperative storytelling or RPing. Also, if any player has a grande idea, they can approach the Koi team and they assist in integrating the proposed idea in to the overall story arc. But what I believe you're asking...

Re: Option to create a PvE only character?

jimhabegger, The feature you are talking about is something which I also thought about a while back in regards to a newer version of Underlight, if that time ever comes to pass. The idea was that the newer version will be cross-platform compatible, mainly between mobile and pc. Now, imagine that you...

Re: Option to create a PvE only character?

There are some good points being made. What about damage to and from mares. If a player is not able to inflict or receive damage from dreamers, what would be the difference that would allow them to hunt mares? Or would this also be off the table? If we look at some of the belief systems, trapped sou...

Re: Option to create a PvE only character?

Yeah I think it lean more towards ruining the gameplay. How would you justify IC that certain players are untouchable? What would be the overall benefit/risk of this to the individual and the rest of the player base? There is already a house art which can do this temporarily. Also, there are sanctua...

Yeah, I see what you mean. However, in all of that time you spent figuring it out with that teacher, there's a lot of conversation to be had, things to learn, and getting to know each other further.

I had an idea for a FateSender Master art

Not sure if there's a thing called Master Arts, but sounds cool. Something for high-end orbits, hard to get and hard to use. So, I was sitting by myself, isolated, smoking a joint, and I was just thinking about the general idea of Underlight and how it could relate to real life and meditation. I was...

Can you explain more? Membership list for the forum? Is it the usename that's a link or is it the url in the users profile? If its the link in their profile It's possible that those are domains which have been expired and transferred to another owner. Although now useless, WayBackMachine might be ab...

Re: Judgement should tell us a dreamer's focus as well..

I personally don't believe that showing any other individual too many details about oneself a good idea. Many factors of UL run on trust, or maybe just benefit of the doubt. If a student comes to you for a plat 60, and his art is only at 55, it would be almost 'micro-managing' that dreamer to contin...

Judgement should tell us a dreamer's focus as well..

With the influx and new dreamers, I find myself often asking "What's your focus"? The question is right in line with, "What's your sphere"? Although it is polite to ask rather than evoke Judgement, I believe that the art of Judgement should also tell us the focus of the dreamer. I don't have a lengt...
